The government created a commission in January this year to verify the identity of those who fought and died for the KLA during the war against the Serbian security forces

Syla was appointed as the head of the body, along with other former commanders of the seven KLA Operative Zones, to find out the exact number of the members the KLA had.

At the end of the Kosovo war in 1999, the Provisional Interim Government of Kosovo claimed that it had some 20,000 members which fought against the Serbian security forces.

But 13 years later, that estimate has increased to over 40,000 KLA fighters, according to the war veterans association OVLUCK. ?

This has led to an outcry by a number of injured veterans and veterans associations, who have complained ?that state assistance is not reaching the right persons.

Syla, who is now a high-ranking member of the ruling Democratic Party of Kosovo, PDK, since his election to parliament in December 2010, is currently being investigated in connection with an ongoing murder trial involving a number of alleged political assassinations carried out by the former intelligence service, SHIK, which was closely associated with the PDK.

Syla is suspected of being a key figure in the organisation, which has supposedly been disbanded. He has denied all links with SHIK, and called all such claims nonsense, saying that any such links would be incompatible with his senior position within the KLA.

Nazim Bllaca, a self-professed SHIK assassin who went public in November 2009 with his crimes, identified a number of senior figures in the Kosovo establishment in connection with SHIK?s activities, including Azem Syla.

Syla?s home was searched in 2010 by EULEX, in connection with the Bllaca case.

The National Association of Credit Management (NACM) released the 2012 edition of its Legislative Introduction and Position Brief today. Appearing in the June issue of the association?s flagship publication, Business Credit, the comprehensive document serves as a historical record of NACM?s more than 100 years representing the interests of unsecured trade creditors on Capitol Hill.

After playing an important role in last year?s repeal of the 3% withholding tax, which would?ve been charged on most government contracts on a local, state or federal basis, NACM has thrown the full weight of its resources behind the cause of reforming the Bankruptcy Code, and specifically its preference provisions.

Isaac crossing Gulf with New Orleans in crosshairs

KEY WEST, Fla. (AP) ? Tropical Storm Isaac targeted a broad swath of the Gulf Coast on Monday and had New Orleans in its crosshairs, bearing down just ahead of the seventh anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

The potential for a landfall as soon as Tuesday prompted evacuations along a wide area of the Gulf Coast and sent people out to stock up on staples.

"I gassed up ? truck and generator", John Corll, 59, a carpenter, said as he left a New Orleans coffee shop Monday morning. He went through Katrina in 2005 and was expecting a weaker storm this time, adding that he thinks the levee system is in better shape to handle a storm surge than when Katrina hit. "I think the state and local governments are much better prepared for the storm surge and emergencies," Corll said.

Isaac blew past the Florida Keys and was rolling northwestward over the open Gulf of Mexico on Monday. The National Hurricane Center predicted it would grow to a Category 1 hurricane over the warm water and possibly hit late Tuesday somewhere along a roughly 300-mile stretch from the bayous southwest of New Orleans to the Florida Panhandle.

That would be one day shy of seven years after Katrina struck catastrophically in 2005, although Katrina was a much stronger Category 5 storm with winds over 157 miles per hour. Isaac is expected to have top winds of around 90 mph when it hits land.

The size of the warning area and the storm's wide bands of rain and wind prompted emergency declarations in four states, and hurricane-tested residents were boarding up homes, sticking up on food and water or getting ready to evacuate.

On the Alabama coast, Billy Cannon, 72, was preparing to evacuate with several cars packed with family and four Chihuahuas from a home on a peninsula in Gulf Shores. Canon, who has lived on the coast for 30 years, said he thinks the order to evacuate Monday was premature.

"If it comes in, it's just going to be a big rain storm. I think they overreacted but I understand where they're coming from. It's safety," he said.

The storm that left eight dead in Haiti blew past the Florida Keys with little damage and promised a drenching but little more for Tampa, where the planned Monday start of the Republican National Convention was pushed back a day in case Isaac passed closer to the bayside city.

Isaac could pack a watery double punch for the Gulf Coast. If it hits during high tide, Isaac could push floodwaters as deep as 12 feet onto shore in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama and up to six feet in the Florida Panhandle, while dumping up to 18 inches of rain over the region, the National Weather Service warned.

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal called a state of emergency, and 53,000 residents of St. Charles Parish near New Orleans were told to leave ahead of the storm. Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant, Florida Gov. Rick Scott and Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley also declared states of emergency.

The oncoming storm stopped work on rigs that account for 24 percent of daily oil production in the U.S. potion of the Gulf of Mexico and eight percent of daily natural gas production there, the federal Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement said in its latest update Sunday.

The Gulf of Mexico accounts for 23 percent of total U.S. crude oil production, 7 percent of the nation's natural gas and more than 40 percent of refining capacity.

Several regional governors altered their plans for this week's GOP convention in Tampa. Bentley has canceled his trip, and Jindal said he's likely to do so unless the threat from the storm subsides. Scott gave up a chance to speak.

Amtrak cancelled train service in Louisiana for Tuesday and Wednesday. The route than runs from New York to New Orleans would end in Atlanta, while its route from Los Angeles to New Orleans would stop in San Antonio. Amtrak was also suspending part of its rail line between Miami and Orlando, Fla.

Grocery and home improvement stores as well as fuel stations in Louisiana reported brisk business as residents sought to prepare for Isaac. Some gas stations were running out of supplies.

Even though the storm was moving well west of Tampa, tropical storm-force winds and heavy rains were possible in the area because of Isaac's large size, forecasters said. A small group of protesters braved rainy weather Sunday and vowed to continue despite the weather, which already forced the Republicans to cancel Monday's opening session of the convention. Instead, the GOP will briefly gavel the gathering to order Monday afternoon and then recess until Tuesday.

The Gulf Coast hasn't been hit by a hurricane since 2008, when Dolly, Ike and Gustav all struck the region.

Before reaching Florida, Isaac was blamed for eight deaths in Haiti and two more in the Dominican Republic, and downed trees and power lines in Cuba.

Packing tips:

• I bring my own shampoo/conditioner in refillable 3 oz bottles because I travel so much if I use whatever random products the hotel puts out my hair gets mad. A couple of great sources for travel sizes are 3floz.com and Sephora.
• Eagle Creek packing cubes are helpful for the small items (underwear, socks, hose, etc) and will help you save a ton of space.
• I have three small bags for my toiletries?one for liquids (that gets taken out at security), one for non-liquids (toothbrush, deodorant, etc), and one for make-up. This allows me to fit them in my suitcase more easily instead of taking up a lot of room.
• Use spare contact lens cases for small amounts of liquids, such as face soap, moisturizer, eye makeup remover, etc.

'Maars' Volcanoes: Research Seeks to Understand Strange Eruptions

Maars are not your typical volcanoes.

These explosive geological oddities don't form neat, cone-shaped mountains. Rather, they can crop up just about anywhere within certain volcanically active areas. Maars are created when a rising plume of magma interacts with underground water, creating a mixture that bursts out of the ground without much warning.

To get a better idea of where and when these eruptions might strike, Greg Valentine, a researcher at SUNY Buffalo, is trying to recreate his own miniature maars.

A better understanding of this phenomenon could lead to better warnings before explosions, and could also help geologists locate hidden sources of diamonds, which can form in maars, Valentine said.

The problem is, there are very little data on maar eruptions, which happen worldwide about once every 20 years, he said. They are also short-lived; after forming, they are active for a few weeks to a few years before disappearing.

Mimicking maars

Valentine recently performed a series of experiments in which he did his best to mimic a maar: he buried explosives, filmed their detonation and carefully sifted through the resulting craters, he told OurAmazingPlanet.

He found that the width of the explosion crater was not directly linked to the size of the explosion. For example, a crater with a small width did not necessarily mean the explosion was small.

"From a hazards perspective, we want to know about the energy of the individual explosions," Valentine said. That's because it's the energy measure most relevant to how much damage to a blast is likely to inflict on nearby buildings or people.

For example, one high-energy explosion is more dangerous than, say, three separate explosions collectively as powerful, he said. Larger explosions are more likely to launch large rocks and create bigger shock waves.

However, the shape of a crater does give some information about the nature of a maar's blast.

In one experiment, Valentine buried one pound of explosives, mostly TNT. After it blew, it left behind a coned-shaped crater. In another experiment he detonated three explosives in the same spot, one after another, each one-third of a pound. The result was a bowl-shaped hole, he said. But both had roughly the same width.

"You can't use the diameter of a crater produced by multiple explosions to estimate energy of individual explosions," he said. "But you can use the shape of the crater. We went back to these pads and carefully excavated them, similar to what an archaeologist would do." His results have yet to be published in a journal, he said.

Diamonds in the maar

Maar eruptions create structures beneath the Earth's surface called diatremes, which are an important source of diamonds around the world. That's because maars are occasionally formed by a specific type of molten rock known as kimberlite, in which diamonds form. Learning more about how diatremes form could help locate diamonds, Valentine said.

Valentine is planning more complex experiments, including using a mixture of magma and water, rather than explosives, to better simulate a maar. ?

Although maars aren't extremely common, their unpredictable nature could make them quite destructive. Just like stratovolcanoes such as Mount St. Helen's, maars can form pyroclastic flows of superheated gas and rock, or throw up clouds of fine-grained ash that could affect air traffic, like Iceland's Eyjafjallaj?kull volcano.

Recent maars have occurred in relatively unpopulated areas, such as Alaska. But they have the potential to form and wreak havoc in several well-populated regions, including Japan, Mexico City and Flagstaff, Ariz.

NEW YORK (AP) ? Alicia Silverstone is coming back to Broadway ? in a romantic comedy set in the porn industry.

Producers of David West Read's comedy "The Performers" said Wednesday the actress will join Henry Winkler and "30 Rock" star Cheyenne Jackson in the play, which begin previews Oct. 23 at the Longacre Theatre.

It's about two high school friends who reconnect at the Adult Film Awards in Las Vegas. Silverstone will play the girlfriend of one of the friends.

The rest of the cast includes Daniel Breaker, Ari Graynor and Jenni Barber. Evan Cabnet, director of Read's "The Dream of the Burning Boy," will direct.

Silverstone made her Broadway debut in 2002 in "The Graduate" and was last on Broadway in 2010 opposite Laura Linney in "Time Stands Still."

That means each and every name, date and location needs a source. Family Tree comes very close to allowing that to happen in a orderly fashion. The method of adding sources in not unique, but it is elegant and as easy as the task can be made.

There were some rumors circulating early on, that the number of sources would be limited to 1000. This may seem like a large number, but for some researchers this would seem to be severe limitation. In fact, the Manual for Family Tree clarifies the numbers and the issue goes away. The Family Tree Manual for 5 August, 2012 at page 81, says:

Each person, couple relationship, and parent-child relationship can have up to 1,000
sources.

This clarification shows that few individuals or families will ever approach the limit of 1,000 sources.? Also initially misunderstood is the function of the Family Tree Source Box. It turns out that the Source Box is a "temporary" location for storing sources, but can contain up to 10,000 sources organized into up to 50 user defined folders. Any source citation can be added to a user's Source Box for further attachment to an individual, a relationship, or a fact. Once the source has been added to all of the pertinent places, it can be deleted from the source box. So, in effect, the number of sources in a user's family tree is essentially unlimited since once a source is deleted from the Source Box, it continues to be attached to the individual, the relationship or fact.

I am not so naive to believe that the genealogical community will suddenly start attaching sources to all the events in their individual data, but the potential to add sources in a non-threatening way, at least opens the possibility that more sources will be used in the future. In addition, the potential for disputes will be greatly reduced as users see that adding data to the Family Tree "requires" either justification and/or a source.

One issue that looms on the horizon is that of "proper" citation form. There is nothing in the Family Tree magazine preventing those obsessed with proper citation form from inserting the mandatory punctuation and spacing, but it is important to understand that an emphasis on "acceptable" or "proper" citation form will likely discourage most genealogists from adding sources at all.

If you find an improper citation form cited for your own ancestors, please feel free to "correct" the errant source citation, but don't berate those who added the citations in the first place or you will likely discourage further contributions.

My wife/ex wife caslled time on our 9 year marriage in march of this year and said she was content with being single/focusing on our kids. I met somebody else a couple of months ago although I'm not sure my feelings are 100% as I tell her they are. My ex has also found someone and I am finding it extremely hard to accept it. In fact it breaks my heart to know that some other man is making my wife/ex happy. I know this sounds confusing. But I really can't make head nor tail of the these feelings that I am having. Has anyone felt this way before??

Join Date: Mar 2011 Location: UK Posts: 79	I know how you feel, im in a similar situation...wife is divorcing me, denied there was anyone else..but i found out there is....and i have since met some one else...i knew her already, we worked together for 3 years, were just friends, after my separation we started seeing each other... She is sooo much better for me than my stbx and she was a great support in the aftermath, even trying to help me get back with my wife for the sake of the kids...but its been hard to forget about my wife, even though i ended up taking her to court to get access to kids, she has lied about everything and tried to take everything...it still hurt though when i found out to think that she was apparently happy with someone else after all of our years together (i found out this week)..i dont think i love her anymore ..its more the disappointment of being treated this way by someone i loved and trusted, and being the one left wondering why it all happened..it has helped me detach by the way she has behaved, and we dont see each other or talk but i am still dreading seeing her with another man...anyway, i know how you feel..confused and not sure if the new woman in your life is the right one, and why the thought of your ex with another man should bother you if you have now found the right person.....i think its only natural to feel this way after you were married to someone, theres still some feelings however much we want to think they have gone (and probably for her to)..i decided to go with the flow and see how it worked out..i figured it should improve over time if it was meant to be, and it has..i still have days when i question where i am now..no longer living with my kids, they living with their mother and likely soon another man, me in a rented house, our house that we worked towards all those years sold, the money all frittered away, most of my personal belongings gone, the heartache and the humiliation she put me through..how did it all happen and why...but these are less now and more and more i am so thankful to have my new partner and i look forward to building a new life with her and the kids.. I dont think mine is a rebound relationship, although it started when i was still mourning the death of my marriage and really not ready for another relationship..my advice would be to try and see beyond your marriage and give it some time if you think she may be right for you..what helps me is to think 'would i have been interested in a relationship with my new partner if i had met her instead of my wife all of those years ago' good luck with your decision

Right now she has you on a string and the other man (OM). Is she living with the OM? Are you giving her only child support or also some spousal support? Does she have a job outside of the home? There are 2 ways you can handle this: 1) Go to no contact (NC). You would only talk to her about things related to the kids. And even this should only be via email and text. 2) Just file for divorce. Let her know that you will be glad to stop the divorce at any time she is willing to work on the marriage. But until then you have no choice as you will not live in limbo. Either of the two will shake her up and end the guy-on-a-string game she's playing. Filing for divorce will have the strongest affect and might shock her out of what she's doing. If it does not, there is no hope for recovery and you may as well go through with the divorce.

So, as far as I am aware, no she doesn't live with the OM although he is around her new house a lot (according to my eldest daughter). In terms of support, I give money monthly to her for the kids. All through the bank so record of it is there. No other support to her. We are pretty much NC anyway as she has moved a good 45 mins away from where we used to live. I only see her when it comes to picking kids up. And she still looks great, if not better than what I remember. She seems happy with her new guy and today I just text her to find out what was going on in terms of if she wanted a divorce or not. She said she wasn't sure what she wanted, didn't want to rush in to it and hadn't really thought about it. But if I wanted one then she wouldn't stop me from doing it. I then said that I felt it wasnt a hard decision for her to make, she seems happy with this guy, she doesn't want it to be "us" anymore so what is it that is making her hold off and that it's leaving me feeling confused and hurt. Again, she said she wasn't sure and I quote "tbh, you don't know about my relationship" and that she wasn't trying to "hurt me" Now I know that I started my relationship with the new woman before my ex did and am half wondering if she is in a way trying to play the game of "one upmanship" that she is doing it to see my reaction. I told her clearly today that although I am happy with what I have now I still have strong feelings for her. I'm stuck in such a quandary as to what to do anymore. I really want to move forward with my life and see where this new thing goes, but at the same time I crave her and the life I had as a family.

That's a very tough question. In my situation, my husband dumped me. In retrospect, I believe my husband wanted to soften the blow of a divorce. Although when pushing him for an answer, he would declare he didn't know what he wanted. Furthermore, he would warn that if I pushed him very hard, he would choose divorce over reconciliation. In my own mind, I allowed him a year to make his decision. Then, I filed for divorce. The truth is that people do not separate to save a marriage. When a spouse moves out, it's usually a good indicator of where their true feelings lie. Those of us left behind cling to hope as long as we can.
